DESCRIPTION
This is a watercolor painting of an abandoned building in the center of Georgetown, Penang. Georgetown has been designated as a ‘World Heritage Site’ in 2008. The city has beautiful and fantastic architecture all around the core area. However, in some pockets of the city there exist a few less desirable buildings which have been abandoned and derelict or under renovation. I think these derelict buildings gave a certain character to the Georgetown urban environment and have always fascinate me. So, I painted a few of them in watercolor because I think it will bring the beauty of these buildings otherwise considered as less appealing. This is why I think how wonderful the art world is.
