DESCRIPTION

This is the third part of my watercolor painting of an abandoned building. This building is located right in the centre of Georgetown city centre, Penang. Georgetown has been designated as a ‘World Heritage Site’ in 2008. The city has beautiful and fantastic architecture all around the core area. However, in some pockets of the city there exist a few less desirable buildings which have been abandoned and derelict or under renovation. I think these derelict buildings gave a certain character to the Georgetown urban environment and have always fascinate me. So, I painted a few of them in watercolor because I think it will bring the beauty of these buildings otherwise considered as less appealing. This is why I think how wonderful the art world is.
