This particular portrait was taken from my original painting of Orangutans. I then added the watercolor texture as a background separately. Orangutans are critically endangered, their numbers are depleting rapidly with the deforestation activities around Asia. In Malaysia, they are a protected species and there are a few Orangutan sanctuaries around the country. I think they are such beautiful and intelligent creatures and their habitats should not be taken away from them in the name of so called human progress.
