This is the original illustration of the Sea Turtles. Painting the skin of the turtle in the foreground was a challenge and I ended up painting several layers to get it right. As I mentioned in the earlier illustration, the beautiful Sea Turtle has long been suffering from a massive decline in numbers for several reasons, with the biggest threat being poaching. The Sea Turtle has been slaughtered for their eggs, meat, skin and shells (source WWF). The Sea Turtle is vital to the marine ecosystem, it is imperative for us to protect them.
